Job Seeker Trends
An internal review of all 2007 Jobboom registrations has revealed some interesting trends:
Job seekers tend to favour Mondays for registering on Jobboom.
The average job seeker creates more than one employment profile.
In New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan and the North West Territories, more Francophones register than Anglophones, and the most popular profile created is the one for Jobboom Learning.

NEGOTIATION TIPS
Figuring out how much you're worth
As an employee, they need you more than you need them. Remember that! Now, how much are you really worth? Basic business principles dictate that you are worth significantly more than you are being paid. Knowing how much you are worth, comparing compensation packages of your colleagues, making a list of you accomplishments and evaluating your strengths and weaknesses are just some initial steps in negotiating yourself a higher salary.

These people are called "milage runners" who stick it to airlines by understanding their Byzantine world of miles and rewards.

GREEN WORKPLACE
Italian fashion advice to help the planet
All the exquisite fashion houses in Italy mean that the rest of the world stands in deference to the Italians in matters of fashion and dress. Now, the latest word from the bustling, Vespa- and Fiat-jammed streets of Milan is that the necktie is "out." This long-standing piece-de-resistance used to cap off the business suit, raises a body's temperature by at least two or three degrees. This, in turn, means more air conditioning in offices, the emissions of which are bad for the environment.

NEWSWORTHY
Gaming may pay off at work
According to the new school, that basement-inhabiting, pop- and pizza-ingesting, video-game playing blob living in your basement is, in fact, training to be a successful leader of a future company. Nay-a CEO even. Old school purists may scoff aloud, but according to a new study by IBM, the online, multiplayer games of today are a model for business communication and collaboration of the future.

Do the hardest tasks first. |
