10 Six-Figure Jobs without a Professional Degree
This headline is perhaps somewhat misleading. The author qualifies all of these six-figure job titles with additional terms such as "goals," "performance," "persistence," "leadership," "overtime," and "unique individual style." If readers were hoping to find positions allowing them to rake in a fat paycheque at the end of each week just for showing up, they will unfortunately need to keep looking elsewhere. After all, everyone secretly dreams of a no-brainer job with low-effort and high-rewards.

Tough times for American workers
Steven Greenhouse is the author of a new book called "The Big Squeeze." Unfortunately, the book is not an endorsement of a juice-based, miracle diet, but rather a condemnation of corporate America and how business owners have squeezed employees for all they're worth in order to cut labour costs, improve their bottom lines and fatten their pocketbooks. The end result is that real wages have grown by merely one percent since 2001, despite soaring profits and increased productivity. How d'ya like them apples?

Smile and dress modestly, civil servants told
Do Eastern Europeans dress differently? Depending on the point of view, they're apparently either overdressed or underdressed. For example, most North American colleagues decked out in their business casual togs would consider a nuclear physicist in a mini-skirt to be – to paraphrase Winston Churchill – a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. Now, the Serbian government has imposed a new code of conduct for its civil servants. The new rules ban disproportionately short skirts, revealing décolletages and see-through blouses.

The ever-expanding administrative role
Since the dawn of the computer age, the workforce mantra has been to do more with less. Of course, no one knows this better than employees working in administrative positions, whose duties and responsibilities have increased to include managing budgets, negotiating vendor contracts, overseeing projects and maintaining websites. As such, companies have extended their appreciation by transforming Administrative Professional's day into a weeklong event.

Preparation tips for college job fairs
On-campus career fairs are an excellent place to find your first job after graduation. To make this work, however, you will have to prepare. This article contains helpful tips such as, don’t smoke before the fair (smelling of tobacco is a definite turn-off these days), dress appropriately, and think about preparing a sound byte about yourself to give to potential employers. But it's not all talk; attendees should have a good attitude and show that they are keen listeners. Don't show up in your pyjamas. And crashing other faculties’ career fairs can also yield unexpected, positive results.

Master your meetings
Before accepting an invitation to a meeting, consider the objectives. If they aren't clear or don't apply to you, you can probably skip out. Most employees complain about being bogged down by a constant stream of endless meetings that keep them from doing any actual work. This article contains other handy tips, like circulating an agenda.

Do you... want to get into med school? Pre-med students are earning a less-than-stellar reputation for their by-any-means-possible attitude in their quest for top grades.
  • They haggle with their teachers for extra points.
  • They hoard leadership positions and then run organizations into the ground.
  • They are not motivated by curiosity.
