Apple largely clears iPod factory of labor violations
In response to swirling rumors about sweatshop-like working conditions, Apple Computer Inc. launched an internal investigation of the Chinese factory that churns out the iPod. Apple's ensuing report found few violations at the Foxconn plant and concluded that worker morale was high. Critics call it a total whitewash and point to the report's flagrant omission of whether Foxconn employees are able to organize or not.

The flip side of Wal-Mart's pay hikes
Is now a good time to be a minimum-wage employee in America? If you're on the bottom rung of the company pay scale, chances are you're due for a raise. Amid much ado over the minimum wage, Wal-Mart, the United States' largest private employer, is raising entry-level pay. Self-marketing
Being a stellar employee means more than getting noticed by the company's top brass. You have to be remarkable for all the right reasons. This is harder than it seems. Do you... believe in miracles in the workplace? "Dios mio!" said an employee at a Los Angeles-based Chocolatier when she discovered drippings in the shape of the Virgin Mary.

Since the discovery at Bodega Chocolates, Angiano's employees have spent much of their time hovering over the tiny figure, praying and placing rose petals and candles around it.
Kitchen worker Cruz Jacinto was the first to spot the lump of melted chocolate when she began her shift Monday, cleaning up drippings that had accumulated under a large vat of dark chocolate.
It looked just like the Virgin Mary on the prayer card she always carries in her right pocket.
Editor's note: the image on the prayer card is actually the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico's patron saint.
