McDonald's seeks redefinition of 'McJob'
McDonald's UK has launched a campaign to revise the dictionary definition of "McJob." They argue that the current meaning is unflattering and derisive. As a result McDonald's is countering with an advertising campaign in Piccadilly Circus featuring its own workplace-inspired coinages: "McValued", "McBenefit" "McRespected." "McJob" was a term first popularized by Canadian novelist Douglas Coupland in Generation X (1991).

College drops student loans
Given the exorbitant cost of post-secondary education in the United States, eliminating student loans is a landmark decision for this plucky southeastern, liberal-arts college. Annual tuition, room and board totals $38,000. While a majority of students still graduate debt free, others are immediately tied to payments for large student loans. Then, there's an untold number who never apply because the cost of education is too much.
