Stage 1: Runs the show in criminal clusters, like gangs and prisons, where the theme is "life stinks."

Stage 2: The dominant culture in 25 percent of the workplace, this group's individuals members believe their "life sucks" and have no impetus to talk about values.

Stage 3: The dominant culture in almost half of U.S. workplace tribes, members achieve in a lone warrior fashion according to the belief that those around them aren't measuring up.

Stage 4: This group comprises 22 percent of tribal cultures, where members think in terms of the group being great and real values start to surface.

Stage 5: This culture occurs in just 2 percent of workforce tribes, where members' focus is on realizing their full potential as a group and being part of a higher cause.
