Substance abuse at work
While Mae West said "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful," employers forced to deal with substance abuse problems would probably disagree. More and more employees in Alberta's oil sands are turning to healthcare experts for help with dependence on alcohol and drugs. One study suggests reported drinking problems are up nearly 500 per cent among this group of largely transitory workers.
