Workplace fitness

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Forward looking companies are embracing this wisdom and would like their employees to live long and fruitful lives rather than keeling over at their workstations. Physical fitness sharpens the mind as well as the body and soul. More pressing priorities and erratic schedules may make it difficult for SMEs to implement a workplace fitness program, but it's actually a matter of survival.

Newsworthy

Mind your workplace manners

A new study reveals Australians are the most offensive to work with while Brits and Americans are most likely to be offended. The results were surprising as most thought the Japanese would be most strict.

Expert explains gender in the workplace

Job interviews

Prepare to win the behavioural interview

Hiring managers devise behavioural interview questions based on the skills necessary to fill the position. Their targeted questions illicit answers from the candidates that show how they used their wits in the past. Although interviewees may not be able to pre-empt the questions, they shouldn't get into a CBC-style narrative about a previous job. Instead, use the Situation Action and Result method for a high-impact story that's to the point.
