Q&A: Age discrimination
Latent ageism at the top and bottom of the workforce demographic chart means that an individual's professional prime can actually amount to a surprisingly short span of time. Recent legislation in Britain makes age discrimination a punishable offence, meaning that employers can no longer sack someone because they were too young or old. How this will play out in terms of individuals applying for future job opportunities remains to be seen.

Hospitality workers blame accountants for advice on hiding tips
In a recent study conducted on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency, hospitality industry workers earning tips blew the whistle on their accountants for advising them to "do the minimum" in terms of declaring these cash earnings on their income tax returns. Waiters, waitresses and bartenders participating in the focus group also stated how they resented being targeted because they are merely small fry in the underground economy.
