According to a new study, many meddling middle managers make it on the backs of their subordinates. Nearly two thirds of respondents said their superiors were often promoted for their domineering ways. Top-level executives who did nothing to reign in these bad bosses only exacerbated the problem further—causing nightmares, insomnia, depression and burnout among the company's bottom rungs.

Printers 'as unhealthy as cigarettes'
To paraphrase Bart Simpson, “Whoa, that’s good toner!” According to an Australian study, 30 per cent of laser printers used in workplaces emit small particles that are just as harmful as cigarette smoke. The effects of these miniscule airborne particles increase fivefold in open-concept offices. A silent killer perhaps; new toner cartridges and graphically heavy printouts made this invisible fog even worse.
