CYBERFINDS
Loan money like a big-time banker
This isn't strictly about work, but rather about money, which is the big reason behind work. Some live cheque-to-cheque, others have a steady income and others still have so much money they can stand to loan it to other people. The Web 2.0 has blown wide open the once highly guarded vault doors to the world of consumer debt and new opportunities will abound.

CAREER PATH
Thinking outside the cubicle
It may be impossible to enumerate how technology has changed the workplace. At the moment, this once formal, hierarchical, monolithic, button-down setting seems to be disintegrating - and that suits some just fine. Away from the confines of their cubicles, the most mobile of this set have room to think of what it is they really would like to be doing with their time.

NEWSWORTHY
Squeezing more value out of HR
Stressed about looking for work? Put your feet up, cool your heels, take 'er easy, and wait for the looming "talent war" to really heat up before entering the fray. Soon enough human resources managers will be begging for skilled, qualified and experienced workers. The retirement of the Baby Boomers in North America will convert the workforce into a seller's market and make employee retention the largest HR challenge in the very near future.

TRENDSPOTTING
Japanese find sleep and shelter in cyber cafes
Sure technology is great, but it is still nice to return home and turn off at the end of a busy day. Now, increasing numbers of young Tokyoites are living out of cyber cafes. This isn't because they are Second Life junkies, rather it's symptomatic of the country's post-bubble economy where a whole cross section of youth cannot afford the high rents and are at a loss for opportunity.

Alcohol damages for Seoul woman
After-work drinks are an important part of anyone's career. It's a networking opportunity, a chance to make contacts. Some would even say it is where a lot of the real business gets done. However a Korean court has decided that it's not mandatory - awarding a woman damages after her employer forced her to drink alcohol.
